I would just like to say a big thankyou to EVERYONE who made such a huge effort in raising funds for The Cancer Society. I speak on behalf of Blair Newton and myself, we are very appreciative to all of the support everyone has shown us over the last 13 months! Blair being too ill to ride last year, managed to make it the WHOLE way this year, even though receiving his most recent round of Chemotherapy on Monday (5 days before the ride). Thanks to Jayne and Mike, you guys are absolutely FANTASTIC! A brilliant event once again. Cant wait for the next one! Bring on 2012. I have uploaded a whole heap of photos onto my facebook page, and will put a link to the Group page tonight. I think I managed to capture EVERYONE on Porters Pass and leaving No.1 hanger, so tag yourselves in as many photos as you can.
THANKS HEAPS, from Blair and Toni X

I'd just like to say thanks to Mike, Jayne and the rest of the team for an awesome day, you should all give yourselves a big pat on the back and be very proud of what you have created.
Also, Blair...Mate you are an inspiration to us all and I am very proud to share the same last name with you :).
Am a bit gutted though that I didn't get to meet you all and tell you this in person, but theres always next year

Normally i prefer the larger bikes but since getting into scooters also years ago this scooter run is the best i have been on and the most well organised. The atmosphere amoungst everyone was great and the cause was probably the reason most people did it and if it happens again next year you better get a bigger road. Thanks to my support crew mildew and all my sponsors. Thanks Kelly

Well done Mike and Jayne and helpers. All the online information on how to enter, donate, weather updates, prep list, participants page was so well thought out it made things so easy and enjoyable on these wintry nights.
May I suggest a page on 2 stroke engine set up and tuning wouldn't go astray as that was my weak link and along with a few others to i think.
The small article in the KiwiRider caught my attention. Cancer and the scooter ride to Hokitika are two things i have now experienced.

Would like to say a big thanks to all involved in organising this event and also all the people that have participated on bikes (especially all the paeople currently undergowing treatments, your all just amazing!!! Blair your picture is on the top of our wall of memory photos from the event good luck with everything), this event has gone off with out a hitch so awsome, We will think about what we are going to say about the day and enter some memorys also, one thing that is sticking in my mind is being past on both sides at the same time by two guns going down the viaduct it was quite bizare and made me grin all the way to the bottem...on the news and in the papers so we are just chuffed thats our 15 mins of fame, we are going to start a FB group for small bike runs in canterbury, we already have a large contact list if you would like to be involved with likeminded people for great days out contact us on ivanandvicki@windowslive.com, i will add a link to it from the TASS group page....Awsome effort Go the Mighty Hondas.....Vix :)

Firstly a big thankyou to the support crews, organisers, marshalls etc. In the words of my good wife: "It was totally awesome and right up there with big things I have done in my life".

Since Saturday we have around 8-10 family and friends who are dead keen to get thier scooters and start fund-raising, so wondering if the TASS might be run in 2011? (Guessing I won't be the only one to ask this question!)

Thanks again.

A huge congratulations to Jayne and Mike for the organisation, sponsors, helpers and food in all of the stops and great communication. It was a fantastic day. I was support crew for Phil - the gorilla, along with our 9 month old baby Charlotte and our 4 month old puppy. People were always helping us and we had a great day. Although we were exhausted by the end of it.
This is a great cause and I am so proud of everyone whether they donated money, rode from Coast to Coast, were support crew, helped with food or just people coming out to cheer. Thank you.

This is just a thank you, as a participant, to you and all the team who ran an event that exceeds any professionally run competitive event I have ever been involved with. All of our needs were meet every step of the way, be it with the excellent marshalling and directions or a much needed muffin! I watched you all work tirelessly during the day, and it was a pleasure to see you guys hug at the end and we could see the relief wash over you both. Thank you again for allowing me to take part in something that started out very stressfully, my brand new bike failed about 1km after leaving home in the morning, and ended up as a memorable and humbling experience having shared a bike with one of my work mates.

Kind Regards,
Alastair.
