Interested in joining the Next ride?

Thanks for your interest in participating in the Tranz Alpine Scooter Safari. It's a great cause! The event is biennial.

Eligibility
The Scooter Safari is open to any motorised step-thru scooter rider, provided you:
  1. Have an appropriate drivers licence
  2. Ride a scooter that is road legal
  3. Provide your own support crew (vehicle and trailer) in case of breakdown or extreme change in weather conditions
  4. Register and pay the registration fee
  5. Commit to raising at least $250 per individual rider and $500 per team for the Cancer Society of NZ, Canterbury-West Coast Division.

Scooter Size:  Ideally you will be riding a 50cc scooter capable of doing 50-55kms per hour on the open road. You can however ride any size step-through scooter, although given the purpose of the ride, the smaller the better. We all know the big bikes can make it easy, the idea is to endure some hardship in support of those living with cancer - an 8+hour journey at 50kms per hour on a 50cc scooter in the cold, is worth being sponsored for.
